Protect classified data with Securis’ Data Disintegration Service

Completely destroy solid state drives, smart phones, thumb drives, sd cards and more.

One of the many things that sets Securis apart from the competition is our latest technology in shredding – specifically our disintegration services. While standard data destruction is part of most security-conscious shredding processes, classified data requires extra protection. Solid-state drives (SSDs), flash drives, smartphones, SIM and memory cards, and micro SD cards containing classified data will literally fall through the cracks of most data destruction and recycling equipment. Securis will take these vulnerable media devices and turn them into dust – 2 mm particles to be exact.

Shred classified or sensitive data into 2mm particles to ensure total destruction.

Certified by the Defense Logistics Information Service

Securis provides classified hard drive destruction services, both off-site and onsite, which meet the National Security Agency’s (NSA) requirements. This process includes both electronic media degaussing, which removes all data by demagnetizing the unit, and electronic media shredding—a process that meets or exceeds all Federal government regulations, including those of the Department of Defense (DOD). Securis is also certified by the Defense Logistics Information Service to store and transport military critical technical data. Our certification number is 0051653. Learn more about our Certifications and Compliance standards here.

Securis Uses Best in Industry Equipment

Securis has the best wiping and shredding equipment available. We have shredders, including the Kobra SSMD-2mm Solid State Media Disintegrator, which is listed on the NSA evaluated products list. Several of our shredders pulverize devices into 2mm e-crumbs as recommended by NSA specifications.

Destroy Any and All Security Risk

This electronic pulp prevents any piece from being accessed, read, or replicated. That means there’s no risk to your company of this data falling into the wrong hands and ensures total destruction of whatever device or drive is shredded.

Classified Data FAQ's

Classified data destruction is the controlled sanitization and physical destruction of data-bearing assets to ensure information labeled Classified, Secret, or Top Secret is permanently unrecoverable—performed within a documented IT asset disposition (ITAD) process.

Yes. Securis provides on-site, witnessable destruction with mobile equipment for high-sensitivity environments, as well as secure off-site processing at our certified facilities.

Our methods align with NIST 800-88 guidance for media sanitization, and our Chantilly location maintains R2v3, ISO 9001/14001/45001, and NAID AAA certification. Securis’ on-site and off-site service options for data destruction also meet or exceed the methods outlined in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Operating Manual, 32 CFR Part 117 (which replaced DoD 5220.22-M). Where required, we use equipment on the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List (EPL).

You get serialized inventory reporting (where applicable) and a Certificate of Data Destruction. All documentation is retained with chain-of-custody records and is available 24/7 via our client portal.

We handle HDDs, SSDs, servers, laptops, mobile devices, LTO/DLT tapes, optical media, and removable flash. For SSDs and small form-factor media we use micro-shredding (disintegration) to achieve smaller particle sizes.

Yes. We routinely support end-of-life processing for assets containing CUI and other controlled data.

Assets are tagged and inventoried, handled by vetted personnel, and tracked from pickup to final destruction. We document every transfer point and provide witness options on request.

When policy requires, we use NSA-approved degaussers for magnetic media prior to physical destruction. For SSDs/flash (non-magnetic), we perform shredding/micro-shredding to specified particle sizes.

Yes. Many programs use a defense-in-depth approach: degaussing for magnetic media, then shredding as the final, physical control.

Yes. Our mobile, on-site teams serve enterprise and government clients across the United States, with secure logistics for multi-site projects.

We scope timelines based on quantity, locations, security requirements, and whether work is on-site or off-site. We can prioritize urgent, compliance-driven projects.

Witnessable on-site service, NSA/CSS EPL-approved equipment where required, R2v3/ISO/NAID AAA alignment, audit-ready certificates and inventory, and proven chain-of-custody controls designed for regulated and government environments.
