Securis provides secure off-site drive wiping services. Our process begins with securely transporting your IT assets to our NAID-certified facility. Our GPS-tracked trucks, equipped with advanced security features, are operated by background-checked U.S. citizens. Each asset is meticulously tracked through our barcode system and audit trail from pickup to delivery.
Upon arrival at our facility, we thoroughly wipe the drives of servers, laptops, tablets, and desktops. For networking equipment, we prioritize returning devices to factory settings. However, due to security risks, we recommend destroying data-bearing devices in firewalls. Switches that cannot be reset are also subjected to data destruction before recycling in compliance with our certifications.
Securis maintains a strict chain of custody for all assets, ensuring security and accountability as assets move through sanitization and recycling.
In addition to providing service at our facility, Securis also offers convenient on-site services. We can securely wipe data or perform other data destruction methods directly at your location, provided we can get internet access or connect to our mobile hotspot. Customers should release desktops and laptops from their mobile device management software before Securis comes to perform mobile eraser services or pick up equipment for recycling.
For devices with removed drives, we offer on-site drive shredding or transport of the drives to our facility for secure wiping.
Networking gear will be returned to factory settings. Our best practice is to destroy data-bearing devices in firewalls. If we can not return switches to the factory setting for any reason, we destroy data-bearing devices before recycling them as a requirement of our certifications. Clients are welcome to witness the entire process if they wish.
